Criminal Cases

This deals with actions that are considered crimes against the public, society, or the state, even if the victim is an individual. Examples include murder, assault, theft, and drunk driving. In these cases, the police register an FIR (First Information Report) or make a GD/DD entry or Challan. The police or other agencies are directly involved in bringing the offender to court for punishment.

Private/Complaint Cases: These involve crimes like cheque bouncing, where the police are not involved. In these cases, the individual must lead their own case and prove it against the accused. The court then reviews the evidence and decides whether to punish or acquit the accused.
